Article the 2nd Her Majesty the Queen of England confirms and warrants to the Chiefs and Tribes of New Zealand and to the several households and persons thereof the full sole and undisturbed ownership of their Lands and Estates Forests Fisheries and other belongingss which they may jointly or separately possess so long as it is their wish and desire to retain the same in their ownership ; but the Chiefs of the United Tribes and the single Chiefs output to Her Majesty the sole right of Preemption over such lands as the owners thereof may be disposed to estrange at such monetary values as may be agreed upon between the several Owners and individuals appointed by Her Majesty to handle with them in that behalf. Article the 3rd In consideration thereof Her Majesty the Queen of England extends to the Natives of New Zealand Her royal protection and imparts to them all the Rights and Privileges of British Subjects.
